About

I come from an artistic family and have maintained an art practice throughout my life. I was taught drawing and watercolour techniques by my mother, who is a trained artist, and have also completed a range of art courses over the years, including drawing and oil painting classes with Hilmi Baskurt.
In recent years I've focused on exploring how we are embedded in our environment on all levels and used my art to to try to express this multi layered embodied reality. My series of watercolours painted in situ in the Dandenongs form part of this exploration.
When I'm not painting, I'm dancing (I'm a regular at 5Rhythms Fitzroy and 5Rhythms Frankston and Open Floor.) Or you can find me writing poetry and prose, walking in The Dandenongs, working as a high school English and Art Teacher, eating chocolate, travelling, participating in Diamond Approach retreats and hanging with family and friends.
I live in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne with my husband, two children and two cats.
